A really lovely rustic restaurant with lots of classic alpine french food done well. The waiters are very friendly and service was quick. I had the confit duck leg which was divine. Definitely worth a visit!

Absolutely perfect! The fondue and raclette were excellent, the setting very pleasant, and above all, the staff super friendly! I highly recommend it.

A very warm welcome... a superb atmosphere... Top-notch staff. Beautifully presented and refined dishes. Excellent value for money. My friend and I were seated at the counter by the fireplace. A culinary gem in Serre-Chevalier! We had the pleasure of dining at La Pastorale a few weeks ago (late January 2026), and it was an unforgettable gastronomic experience! From the moment we arrived, the warm and attentive welcome from the staff set the tone. The setting, both elegant and convivial, is perfect for an evening in the mountains, with a refined ambiance and decor. The cuisine is simply exceptional. Each dish was prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients, and the flavors were subtly balanced. We particularly enjoyed the pierrade, a true delight. The menu offers a lovely variety, combining tradition and creativity, and the portions are generous without being excessive. The service was impeccable: attentive, discreet, and always smiling. You can tell that the team takes pride in making every moment special for its guests with finesse and simplicity, not forgetting Spike by or under the fireplace, a lovable dog who radiates his soothing tranquility. Finally, the wine list is well-curated, featuring local selections and bottles that perfectly complement the dishes and digestifs offered—an extra touch that adds to the overall charm and welcoming atmosphere of the place. In short, La Pastorale is an address not to be missed if you're visiting Serre-Chevalier. *** You need to book this restaurant as it is the busiest in town *** This restaurant is a rare gem and packed to the brim from 7pm opening time, they have two sittings 7pm and 9pm - you have to have a reservation otherwise they will turn you away, they are not being rude, they are just so busy and therefore trying to serve the whole restaurant in one go. Food is fantastic snails are a must have and meat cooked on the hot plate or cooked on the open fire. They have many fondue options and french meats. We came to this restaurant four nights out of 7 as it was such a great atmosphere and authentic French cuisine. 10/10 from us we will defo be booking again next year. Also a lovely friendly house dog that sleeps under the fire place. Cutteeeeee.

A wonderful romantic getaway at the pastoral restaurant, with delicious cheese and charcuterie. Don't be put off by the initial welcome; life in the mountains during peak tourist season can be tough, but once you get past that initial shyness, they're lovely!
