La Pâtisserie Américaine sur Paris

21/09/2026: This is a simple, unpretentious bakery rather than a fancy pâtisserie. They don’t have elaborate pastries, but they offer a nice selection of savory items, including croque-monsieur, ficelles, and quiches. Everything was good, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. A great little spot for a quick and tasty meal.

11/09/2026: I've been going to this bakery very often for a year now, and I have nothing but praise for the service, which has always been excellent (the ladies are always smiling!). I learned at the beginning of the week, after a month of renovations, that they had changed owners. I also saw that they had a new barista! I was so happy, so I went on Thursday. The barista was incredibly friendly, very smiley, and truly lovely. I paid €5 for a caramel iced latte, which was delicious and the size was perfect. I went back today (Friday) and ordered the same thing. They told me it would be €6… okay, maybe she made a mistake yesterday, it happens. But this time, it wasn't the same barista as yesterday. She wasn't pleasant, wasn't smiling, AND they were already out of cups AND straws. So instead of getting the same thing as yesterday, I got an iced latte in a MUCH smaller cup, and it wasn't very good, and it was the same price (and actually more expensive in this situation)???? I tried to understand, but I got no answer, no apology, nothing. In short, I'm extremely disappointed. I usually love going there, but sorry, this is completely unacceptable.
