By the grace of heaven and the nobility of my mission, I rode swiftly to Saint-Hilaire-de-Briouze, seeking sustenance for my valiant body and loyal spirit, for I was bound to serve His Majesty with vigor and promptness. My steed, a noble and faithful companion, panted with the strain of the journey, and I halted at a place called La Pommeraie, demanding to be served a meal without delay, for my duty called.
From the moment I entered the hall, I demanded the largest portion available, for a knight on a mission for the king could not be satisfied with a meager ration. The lady of the house, with her firm and decisive manner, presented the dishes to me diligently. I was first astonished by the plates, as clear as the water of Norman streams: never in all my travels had I seen such a miracle, and my knightly eye lingered upon them, convinced they were made of enchanting crystal.
The beverage that accompanied my feast was so exquisite that, seized by ardor and boldness, I offered to buy the entire cask for my long rides across the kingdom. But the lady, wise and tenacious, refused to yield to my gold coins, thus preserving the secret of her culinary art for future generations.
Each bite, each sip, was a source of delight and invigoration for me. The cooking of the meats, the aroma of the herbs, and the care lavished on each dish testified to a mastery worthy of the finest kitchens in the kingdom, comparable to the banquets served at the court of Philip Augustus and the feasts of the city of Rouen.
I left La Pommeraie with a full heart and a joyful soul, vowing to myself that I would speak of this establishment to His Majesty and to all the lords of the Court, so that the lady might be honored and, perhaps, called upon to serve at the castle, so perfect is her art and so worthy is her hospitality of a noble knight.

For a working-class restaurant
The menus aren't refined, the starters aren't decorated, the meats like the roast beef are very tough, which is strange.
Lack of smiles, but the credit goes to the hard work. The parking lot is always full, so there you go.
