La Popote sur Metz

La Popote has practically become my go-to spot in Metz! The food is generous and delicious, the atmosphere warm, and the staff always welcoming and attentive. It's a truly authentic place, one I love to return to regularly. As a producer from Domaine des Varieux, I've also had the pleasure of delivering my salads to them. I'm particularly happy to see a Metz restaurant supporting local producers and showcasing fresh, locally grown produce. A wonderful place, as enjoyable for its staff as it is for its food, which I recommend without hesitation!

A real success! The food is delicious, just like at Grandma's: generous, comforting, and full of flavor. The waiters and waitresses are super friendly, always full of little touches that make all the difference. A must-visit—we'll gladly return!

I visited because of the good reviews on Google Maps. Even though I arrived right at opening time, the place was already nearly full, and it was completely packed shortly after I sat down, so it seemed to be quite a well-known local spot. Since I was alone, I wanted to try a variety of items, but I ordered what I guess you could call a pretzel burger. Anyway, it felt like a completely different, upscale version of a standard burger. It was quite large, so if I had ordered more, I probably wouldn't have been able to finish it all. Judging by how delicious the meat inside was, I imagine the other meat dishes would be good too. If I get the chance to visit again, I’d love to try the beef tartare or the steak. The red wine I had on the recommendation was also excellent, and the homemade ham served as a starter was fantastic!

I went there a while ago with two friends. The food is delicious, the setting is very nice, and the atmosphere is great too. However, the waiter who served us is someone to avoid at all costs! We ordered a platter to share, and everything was going very well until it came time to order dessert. The waiter brought us the menus and said, in a very haughty manner, "Of course, desserts. We wouldn't want your hunger to wake you up tonight." We were speechless. Later, another, younger waiter came to bring us the desserts. We explained what had happened, and he was sorry and embarrassed by the situation, but the first waiter didn't come to apologize. The young woman at the bar was also very friendly! In short, it's a good place, but just because of this nasty and unprovoked remark, I won't recommend this restaurant and I certainly won't be going back.

Nothing to change! I'm telling you! From the food to the welcome, a masterful experience!

We had a wonderful time! The food was excellent and the service was particularly pleasant. We will definitely return on our next trip to Metz!

Genuine hospitality and simply delicious food. A lovely French bistro just as it should be (but even better). We had a really great meal here with our family. Highly recommended!!!

The food was great! A few drawbacks! Like any good restaurant, the seating is a bit cramped (Parisian style), they have to make the most of the space. The aperitifs were excellent, but there wasn't enough time to finish them at a leisurely pace; the main course was rushed! You have to keep an eye on the table and wait for the customer to signal the next course to be served! The terrace is nice but close to the street, despite the flower screens and the noise.

The atmosphere was warm and the service was impeccable; despite the number of people there, we were never made to feel rushed. The meal was very generous and truly excellent, from the appetizer to the dessert, including the wine that was recommended to us and paired perfectly with the mushroom starter. We will definitely be back!
