Because this bar/tobacconist is essential to the life of Muides-sur-Loire, go there for whatever you want... a coffee, a small glass of wine, tobacco, newspapers, a parcel...

The last remaining café for die-hards, you either love it or hate it, but it has the merit of existing, fostering social connections, and offering local services.
So yes, it doesn't fit the mold of sterile, impersonal establishments, but at least it has character.
You'll find fishermen, hunters, retirees, young people, factory workers, stay-at-home mothers, tourists, business owners... there's a REAL social mix.
The shopkeepers are human beings with good days and bad days: they don't take vacations, they work between 60 and 90 hours a week for barely minimum wage.
I wish I could leave comments about the rude, arrogant customers who treat bar/restaurant owners like their servants and wouldn't tolerate a single mistake.
Instead of giving stars, a face-to-face conversation would, I think, be more constructive. If you want standardized places where they make the customer feel like king while selling them neatly packaged garbage, I recommend Starbucks, Flunch, or a vending machine for your parcels. Leave our small businesses alone and just stop going there.
In short, Pascale has character and a real personality, but isn't that what we're looking for in our last remaining little country bistros?

For a small village, there's at least one tobacconist. I go there to buy my cigarettes and other things. It's already good to have this kind of business.
After all, the manager does her job, we're not judged for giving an opinion on a quick visit.
