La P'tite Ardoise sur Nantes

You might need a little time to adjust to the waiter's (very dry) style, but don't be fooled: he's anything but rude. The dining room can get a bit noisy when it fills up, but that's to be expected at all good restaurants. After all, an enticing menu, generous and beautifully presented dishes, all at a very affordable price and served without waiting—frankly, it would be a shame if it didn't attract a crowd! I recommend this place for both lunch and dinner.

A brasserie where the menu offers excellent value for money, so much so that even my mother-in-law would agree to pay her share. The dishes are varied and generous, served by the owner whose humor ranges from deadpan to the seriousness of a notary reading a will. The simple, warm, and unadorned decor means you come again and again, and leave feeling satisfied, amused, and happy. Aside from the daily specials, don't change a thing!
