It's been a few months now since I became a true devotee of Paupiette's cuisine.
I didn't frequent the city center very often before discovering that La Quille had created a second location dedicated to lunch.
The menu is vibrant, bursting with freshness, and, to the delight of food lovers, it changes weekly. It's a truly welcoming place, with a pleasant terrace tucked away from the traffic.
The service is on par with the food: attentive, warm, and delivered by a wonderfully kind team. It was thanks to them that I discovered a hoppy kombucha, which has since become my little Proustian madeleine with each visit.
All this at remarkably reasonable prices considering the quality of the ingredients and the care put into the dishes.
Special mention also goes to the bread, which is always excellent. It's a detail that's become quite significant, given how difficult it is to find a restaurant that offers bread of this quality.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place, especially after our conversation today about our shared passion for fine timepieces.

Next to La Quille is Paupiette!
A small restaurant with only about twenty seats, so you have to make a reservation as the kitchen is small and seating is limited. I arrived without prior notice, and I say this because the welcome was nonetheless intelligent and warm. I completely let myself be guided and asked the waiter to choose for me, without knowing what would end up on my plate.
The starter was a delightful surprise: crisp asparagus, an airy lemon foam, roasted cashews, and fresh mint. Obviously, it's the season, but what a creative way to prepare these asparagus, truly exquisite!
Then the waiter sensed my vegetarian preferences: wild garlic spaetzle, a delicately velvety pea sauce, and perfectly caramelized roasted vegetables. The wild garlic, the quintessential seasonal ingredient, infuses the entire dish with an irresistible touch of wildness. The portion was generous; I couldn't finish it and was able to take the rest home—a thoughtful gesture.
The dessert was simple yet incredibly effective: a passion fruit meringue tartlet, tangy, melt-in-your-mouth, topped with a perfectly golden meringue. Then, a delicate and flavorful coffee to round off the feast. To drink, a Hopfield non-alcoholic beer that perfectly complemented this inventive cuisine. A true culinary delight.

We arrived by chance, and although we didn't have a reservation, we were able to have dinner on the first floor.
La Quille is a wine bar with an excellent selection of wines (mainly French, of course) that offers dishes that complement and pair beautifully with wine. They also have other drinks and even cocktails.
Although we don't speak French, our experience was very good, communicating in English with the always friendly and attentive waiters. We ordered the house Croque-monsieur, a hummus dish, and a cheese board, accompanied by a 2023 Pinot Noir Rouge from Alsace (Domaine Engel). Everything was delicious and excellently served, although we had to remind them that the cheese board was missing (which arrived promptly).
I think it's an excellent place to enjoy wine and a light meal. It's also a great place to spend quality time with friends and loved ones. Highly recommended.
