La Rose de Montmarte sur Paris

Very pretty and cozy. Friendly service. We had cake, cheese and sausage platters. Plus wine and tea. We became aware of it through a travel guide.

Very nice little cafe. With home style food. We had enormous pleasure

Lots of tourists flocking outside to take pictures of the restaurant. Not sure what’s so special about plants growing outside the building. Went to check the menu and seems attractive. Asked the host if I need to reserve a table. Was told they are kinda fully booked but able to sit me in when kitchen opened. Was tired walking around the area and decided to just get sit in for a drink while waiting for the kitchen to open. Well, the restaurant was far from fully booked 😂 guess the host trying to create a demand. Lol. Anyway, ordered a veal dish as main and a carrot cake for dessert. Veal was well cooked and goes well with the gravy. So does the side potatoes. Would rate it 9/10. As for the carrot cake, maybe a 7/10. Definitely worth a try when you are in the area.

Of course I had to visit it. I watch Emily in Paris too :) It wasn’t open yet when I arrived

La Maison Rose is such a charming and cozy spot! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, making it the perfect place for a relaxed meal. The food is delicious, and the staff are incredibly friendly, adding to the overall lovely experience. They don’t have many tables, so it’s best to come early or make a reservation to avoid waiting. Definitely a must-visit for anyone looking for a quaint and delicious dining experience!

At the time I went there was only enough for snacks and we opted for the cheese board and despite the quality it was a minimum amount for the amount paid. Clearly an overrated place! Wouldn't repeat it although the staff was super friendly

Food was fine, the restaurant is beautiful. I was sat outside because I didnt have a reservation (not possible to make for only 1 person), which was fine, I felt lucky to be seated at all, but the manager did seem irritated I had shown up. I was sort of forgotten after that for a while, the table in front of me had their order taken and were served their first course before anyone came to say hello and set my table. I think they were stressed because it was a busy Saturday night, and late. The waiter was very nice but the manager seemed impatient with me. When she cleared my first plate, she interrupted me while I started saying the food was delicious to tell me to take my cutlery off the plate because she didn’t want to touch it, which she said with some disgust. I felt a bit hurt because I was so excited to visit this restaurant, and it was my final and most expensive dinner in Paris, but it felt like a let down. By the time the bill came she was more calm and I got a smile, so I do think she was just stressed. Still, it was not the high note I had looked forward to and wanted to end my trip on.

I have to admit, I was very hesitant to book this place given that it is one of tourists' attractions in Montmartre. That said, our experience end to end was quite positive and delicious. The place is charming, with tables inside and outside. While our reservation somehow did not show up in the system, the team got us a table right away. The menu is small, with a 2- or 3-part options available. We skipped the appetizers but the mains and the desserts (especially my pavlova) were delicious. Sitting in the shade on a perfectly sunny day, eating simple but delicious food, and enjoying some of Montmartre's views was amazing. My only qualm was the crowds arriving on the corner every few minutes to take pictures of the location (thank you, Emily in Paris, I guess...). That did not interfere with our lunch experience too much though.
