Le Grand Bol is a place we always find ourselves returning to in Paris.
It was first recommended by my son, who spoke of its remarkably fresh Chinese seafood, and from the first visit, it truly lived up to that promise.
The ingredients are fresh, the flavours honest, and every dish carries a quiet sense of care.
The owner brings a warm and effortless hospitality that makes you feel instantly at ease, adding a personal touch that stays with you.
Over time, this restaurant has become part of our Paris routine. Each time we travel from London and Zurich, we make a point to come back for a meal that feels both familiar and comforting.

One of Belleville's best spots. Lots of regulars. The food is good and the atmosphere is welcoming. Xiaolongbao, garlic-fried cuttlefish, and Peking duck on a bed of eight-treasure rice. Authentic Long Jing tea. No surprise, the staff comes from Suzhou, near the region that produces this nectar. They had some rarer dishes, but we opted for the familiar ones. No regrets.

Excellent Chinese restaurant, highly recommended. I am a Chinese food fan and here I had a fantastic (very spicy) fish soup, a huge portion, and my partner a crab rice that she will remember. The restaurant seems specialised in fish and sea food, I have seen customers having clams and scallops . Wine at very good prices half bottle available. We will definitely come back when in Paris!

I had high expectations (several local people had raved about this place) and I wasn’t disappointed at all! I can confirm it’s not your usual run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant: the chef really knows his stuff and lets you experience truly excellent, well-balanced flavours. Even something as simple as the steamed ravioli has something special about it. Also, besides the meat dishes, there’s a great selection for pescatarians, vegetarians and vegans as well. And the service is very welcoming too. Location: little, simple and genuine. If I hadn’t already left Paris, I’d definitely go back.
PS: The fish dish was a bit too much for me, but being able to take the leftovers home made my lunch the next day just as delightful!

An institution! I've been going there for 15 years, and the quality and originality of the dishes remain unmatched to this day, especially at these prices.
