La Rose Des Vents sur Ouistreham

A fantastic end to our holiday in Normandy. The food and service were perfect. A small but excellent restaurant near the cathedral in Ouistreham.

We came in August by chance, but what a surprise: everything is delicious, refined, and beautifully presented. We went back for our 44th wedding anniversary and we weren't disappointed; it's truly excellent. The young waitress is absolutely lovely and has a great sense of humor. We'll be back, thanks to the chef anyway. 😅

Back again a year later, and what can I say... STILL AS WONDERFUL AS EVER. From the warm welcome and genuine kindness to the refined and flavorful cuisine. The presentation of the dishes truly showcases their finesse and taste. It's so wonderful to venture off the beaten tourist track and discover a small, unassuming restaurant that is, at first glance, utterly delightful. Thank you for your delicious food, Chef 😋, and for the young lady's cheerful disposition. See you very soon 😄

A truly wonderful culinary discovery, and we received a very warm welcome! We dined with our teenagers, who ordered homemade burgers with fries. They gave it 5 stars, and they're usually quite strict with our restaurant reviews :) Well done! We opted for the €44 set menu, which included a starter, a "trou normand" (lime and Calvados ice cream), a main course, cheese, and dessert. Everything was very generous. We recommend arriving at the restaurant well-fed if you choose this menu :) The foie gras starter with Calvados, homemade bread, and chestnut and dried fruit was excellent! The salmon gravlax was also excellent! The seafood croque-croute was very flavorful and arrived piping hot. For dessert, we had a macaron, a Calvados-flavored crème brûlée, and an apple cake. All were excellent as well. All the ingredients are fresh. Kudos to the chef who knows how to combine them to our great delight. This is the kind of restaurant quality that's becoming increasingly rare. The waiter was attentive and kind. We highly recommend this restaurant, which deserves to be better known. Slightly set back from the other restaurants facing the port, it's easily accessible with ample parking. If we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely stop here. Thank you for your warm welcome.

Everything was perfect! The place was recommended to us and we absolutely don't regret choosing it. We ate very, very well and had a wonderful time. We wholeheartedly recommend it to ourselves!

Very good restaurant. We ate excellent mussels and fries and the homemade crème brûlée with calvados was delicious.

Excellent cuisine, bursting with flavor, taste, and generosity. Thank you to the chef. The service was perfect, with a head waiter who knew the menu and was attentive to the guests. I personally discovered a new wine. The place is welcoming. I highly recommend it.
