A worthy review for an equally remarkable restaurant.
To begin with, the welcome: pleasant, courteous, you immediately feel at ease in this wooded setting which has not changed since the arrival of chef Etchebest in 2017. What a pleasure to find yourself in one of the sets of this cult show, with this real impression of having been sucked in by TV. I promise, I won't talk about it anymore, the owners having changed since the dreaded chef's visit (and so much the better for everyone, according to my sources).
We had a nice group, so we started with a little aperitif. I don't know about the others, but my "American champagne" (Coca-Cola) was very good. At the suggestion of the waitress (manager?), we let ourselves be tempted by three plates of foie gras to share (the lady does her job well, eh ^_^). The foie gras was a delight, we felt the artisanal side, served with small toasts and onion confit accompanied by a few other little decorative joys. I let myself be tempted by a perfect bite, which immediately put me in the holiday spirit.
For the main course (and when I say main, it's hardly a euphemism), I wanted to have a crepe, given the name of the shop. But dilemma, I said "hardly" earlier, I repeat "war" now. The internal battle to choose what would satisfy our stomach was such that we wanted to take everything. And then, out of the corner of my eye (upper left), I see a Reblochon roasted in the oven with a whole bunch of cholesterol-causing treats. Certainly, but rrrrooooh, how can I let that go? I'll let you enjoy the photo... I ate everything, I left nothing, and I have absolutely no regrets!
Finally, for dessert, carried by this tasty euphoria, I opted for something light. No, absolutely not. Having been seduced by the setting and the atmosphere, I could not leave without having tasted a crepe. And once again, out of the corner of my eye (this time, lower right), I type a word: brownie (um, greedy…). Then maple syrup/pecan ice cream (the waitress having insisted on the master ice cream maker). I let myself be tempted and… wahhh! Explosion of flavors: a salty side that is not unpleasant in the mouth, a woody sweetness of the maple syrup, a sweet pleasure of a brownie, and this simple but effective pancake, with a remarkable texture. I had never eaten such ones (and yet, believe me, I have eaten pancakes). I'll let you enjoy the photo and, I would add, the silence that accompanied my tasting.
Because yes, in this restaurant, we are not talking about eating, but truly tasting. You will understand that I recommend it to you with your eyes closed. It’s an address that’s worth the detour.
Thanks to the team, thanks to the chef.
Well done !
