La Taberna sur Honfleur

20/06/2026: Hotel looks charming on the outside but feels shabby on the inside. Rooms are furnished in a twee fashion with junk furniture and contain shabby carpets. All areas including the room smell strongly of air freshener which suggests a problem with damp or just uncleanliness. It was so strong that even with the windows open all day it still smelled of it. Staff weren’t interested and remarked that they liked the smell so that was that. They did offer a room swap but all the rooms smelled the same. It’s a shame. The place needs a lot of money spending on it to make the insider as glorious as the outside. However I must say that the room was pretty cheap so some might enjoy it especially if you have no sense of smell. The location in front of the cathedral cannot be beaten.

16/06/2026: We had a room in the Annexe about 200m from the hotel. The room was a good size with dual aspect, a big bed, twin sinks and a good walk in shower. Located in a quiet side street meant very little noise. Only grumble was Breakfast @ €26pp. Both can eat in town for that. Parking is near the harbour so a bit of a trek to the annexe and means hills.
