We've been four times and I've just booked for a fifth. This restaurant is worth the trip; we always return with a renewed sense of pleasure: an alchemy of local produce, the chef's expertise, creativity, authenticity, and the warm welcome of the hostess—essential, intense, and genuine cuisine.
A major disappointment:
Our dinner at the one-Michelin-starred restaurant did not live up to our expectations. The truffle-themed menu was bland, the quality of the food clearly lacking, from the main course to the very aged cheese (to say the least) and the desserts. The ambiance, with its unpleasant decor and music, only added to our disappointment. Only the warm welcome and the wines were praiseworthy, but these did not justify the price. Never again.
A unique experience. A high-flying table in this small Beaujolais village. Refined, original dishes with subtle flavors. Thanks to the chef's inventiveness. And the service was gentle, friendly, and respectful of our privacy. Bravo. Persevere in this quality.
