La Table de la Bergerie sur Champ-Sur-Layon

Nestled among the vineyards of Layon, this sheepfold, which we hadn't visited in years after leaving Anjou, remains one of the finest gourmet restaurants in the Anjou region. The welcome and service were warm, precise, and efficient. The four-course menu combined sometimes surprising, but always successful, flavors. A true delight, it began with the amuse-bouches and continued with marinated sea bass, roasted langoustines, the sublime "Vegetable" (peas and lovage), the perfectly cooked fish, the succulent chicken, the strawberries with accompaniments, and the mint, which had been highly recommended—a revelation! The sparkling wines, Grolleau and Cabernet Franc, from Domaine de la Bergerie were the perfect accompaniment.

Excellent experience. Our children had given us a gift box. We were treated perfectly, just like any other customer. The food was superb, with a perfect blend of flavors and textures. The menu was limited, featuring only the freshest, most carefully selected ingredients. Excellent wines, including those from the estate. The service was impeccable without being intrusive; the woman who served us was very helpful, kindly answering all our questions and clearly knowledgeable about wine. The wine cellar was excellent, with a very wide selection. When you make a reservation, you're given an arrival time slot, allowing for a more relaxed service with minimal waiting between courses. The small, air-conditioned dining room is nestled among the vineyards. A very pleasant experience in a simple and peaceful atmosphere. Reasonable prices for a Michelin-starred restaurant. A perfect spot for a little gourmet indulgence.

Everything was perfect, from the aperitif to the dessert. Not a single flaw in this discovery… I highly recommend it, we will be back.

We had the pleasure of dining at La Bergerie for my husband's 40th birthday. The setting was lovely, with a peaceful terrace overlooking the vineyards, perfect for an aperitif. Then came a superb wine list at reasonable prices, with excellent recommendations from the sommelier, Armonie. The service was impeccable, and of course, the best was saved for last: an exceptional tasting menu, whether it was vegetables, fish, or meat. Everything was prepared with precision, respecting the ingredients and offering surprising pairings. Special mention goes to the duckling with foie gras and the beetroot and carrot dessert.
