La Table de Marie sur Metz

I visited this restaurant during a recent trip to Metz. The downstairs section was packed on a weekday evening, while the upstairs section was closed, so unfortunately we couldn’t enjoy the terrace view mentioned in several other reviews. We ordered matar paneer, dal makhani and garlic naan. The food was tasty, and the quality of the mains was particularly impressive. However, the portion sizes are on the smaller side. The menu is also quite limited, with not a lot of variety to choose from. As is common in many Indian restaurants across Europe, complimentary rice is served with the mains. The rice was decent, although slightly undercooked for my preference. The dal makhani was not quite what I would expect from a traditional dal makhani and was closer to chana dal, but it was still good in taste. What stood out most was the overall quality of the mains we ordered. Overall, I would recommend this place, particularly for the quality of the food, although I would have liked to see larger portions and a more varied menu.

We discovered this place. We'll gladly come back to try the other dishes; however, the desserts weren't exceptional. I won't be ordering them again.

Message from June 21, 2026 (8 PM). The food is great at your place, and the prices are fantastic, but please, if the DJ could turn the volume down a bit, that would be great. He's playing louder and louder; it's becoming unbearable. Edit: Actually, fire him. Besides playing loudly, he's incredibly bad at adjusting the volume. It's a shame; he's ruined the evening for more than one person.

Best Indian restaurant in Metz. The food is excellent. Very good value for money. The servers are very friendly and smiling. Highly recommended.

I went there for lunch with some friends today. The food is excellent, the atmosphere and service impeccable. A true culinary journey without having to go far. We'll be back ☺️.
