We stopped briefly off the highway and found Geneviève and Gilles to be charming owners of a lovely establishment.

Delicious baby squid, and especially the whole squab, which was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly and, above all, quick; kudos to the chef for the excellent presentation.

A set menu was advertised at €18, but we were told it was "reserved for workers," so we opted for a croque madame instead. It was very good, but at €17.50, it was a bit pricey for my taste. And the highlight of the evening was the draft beer at €5.50. We were in Escource, not Saint-Jean-de-Luz! It's a shame because we received a very warm welcome.
