A customer since 2000, the Saint Just table has always been a reference restaurant for me in the region and these restaurateurs have offered us very good culinary moments in an ever-improving setting. We wanted to try this restaurant taken over by the children in its new boutique restaurant concept and we were very, very disappointed.
Arriving at the main entrance of the restaurant (reception desk of the old successful restaurant and cloakroom which set the tone for the class of the restaurant) a poster invites us to pass through the small entrance to the shop.
Ok, we now know that you can buy their products.
We are taken to our table and the atmosphere is very different but quite successful. The lady, out of courtesy, finds herself seated on the bench and tries to arrange her coat and her bag as best she can, because there are no more cloakrooms available. We are on the seated concept of a brasserie... the larger number of tables and close together no longer allow for a certain intimacy and on the contrary predispose you to following the conversation of others!
In this new concept which is certainly more modern, the changes are notable throughout the meal:
No more white tablecloths, bread sliced in advance replaces individual rolls, service in sneakers and not very cheerful.
Forget the appetizers of the Saint Just table and their flavors, for a little hummus served in a small pot with a spoon that you share.
Halfway through our appetizer, our dishes arrive. The service is fast.
There, big disappointment, 4 small scallops with pumpkin puree (dry) and some broken chestnuts. No particular flavors and above all a presentation like at home... (on holidays) If we look at the dishes offered a few years ago, the observation is clear. (quantity and visual)
A lemon dessert well known to us and whose biscuit in the mouth did not express much freshness. €6.50 in store, 13 euros on the plate; why not if the products are of the day.
A soufflé that will not be remembered.
And after these disappointments, to conclude, a little marshmallow the size of a thumb is served to us as a little provocation. (exit the sweet treats of St Just). No doubt to encourage us to come back to the store!!
1 aperitif, 1 glass of wine, a main course and a dessert and the bill approaches 150 Euros for 2.
You come out with a light stomach and a lighter wallet.
Inflation does not explain everything; other restaurateurs have the same constraints and are doing better by still offering pleasure to their customers and ensuring their loyalty.
This boutique restaurant concept which aims to cast a wide net (boutique - more tables - brunch) is certainly a good thing for the restaurateur (the future will tell) but the quality-price-service ratio is no longer there in our opinion and the bill has only increased.
Since it's still the same family that operates this new restaurant, we're still tempted to at least compare what's on the plate.
Thanks again to the Saint Just table for the pleasures offered; for us the adventure with RMANA ends there and I will not recommend your table to my friends.
I've only been to the store so far.

The best Paris Brest that I have tasted for very reasonable prices compared to others I recommend this shop a thousand times.
