Finally a little disappointed. Given the prices displayed, we were expecting a semi-gastro.
The good thing about real local dishes.
Too bad the coq au vin fell short of expectations. The meat was really dry and the portions were just ok. Good mash...but it's mash.
Etc...my grandmother's Coq au vin will remain unrivaled.
A little appetizer to wait would have been a plus.
Service a little long at the beginning to bring the local wine.
Desserts ok.
Detail. For a table of 3, when bringing the bill, add not 1 but 3 pieces of chocolate. We don't come for that but the devil is in the details.
Noisy room.

Ultimately very simple restaurant. Too many tables in a confined space, dishes just good without seasoning or elaborate accompaniments. We enjoyed the meal but were very surprised by the price. We were thinking of going to a semi-gastro but it was an ordinary restaurant. So bad value for money.

Saturday October 5, 3 of us are out. Heading to the rooster in Juliènas who we don't know. Restaurant with a bistro atmosphere. I ask for a dry white wine for the aperitif (as dry as possible). I was offered a white which, although not sweet, is not dry. Perhaps I should have specified unsweetened...The gougères are just okay and the cheese spread looks like boursin (no more) on simple toasted bread. The starter is brought to us while we are in the middle of the aperitif. We ask to be able to finish quietly. Our entry arrives. Snails are very disappointing. Just 8 sad creatures soaking in poorly seasoned melted butter (lack of salt and pepper and we don't even see any herbs. It's bland and without any interest. Limit, the green salad that accompanies it is more interesting though it is also rather sad (the vinaigrette is good), on the other hand, the coq a vin is good (lack of salt and pepper but it is easier to add it than to remove it,...). say about my daughter's vegetarian dish, it's a pure and simple scam for an exorbitant price: a few carrots with tops (that's probably what justifies the price), probably sweet potatoes. is not really bad but it is very meager It is a "complete" dish and it hardly represents the accompaniment that one should have with meat Ah yes, I forgot the mash, the famous mash but oh well. It's puree,... The cheese plate isn't even local except perhaps the fresh goat's cheese (in any case it wasn't told to us). Otherwise: Reblochon, Comté and Tomme. Nothing local and the accompanying nuts are not fresh. Okay with a sprig of dill,... The wine we chose is, however, very good but that's not everything. In summary, the test is not transformed and I don't even want to try again

Dinner for 15 friends, recommended by the tourist office and the Hôtel des Vignes in Juliénas.
Reserved table, well set, away from other guests.
Sophisticated and tasty dishes.
Great performance.
Very beautiful wine cellar.
