Chain store well known for its canelés, the most typical dessert in Bordeaux. This sweet has a curious history, at first it was created by the nuns to feed the needy people of the time since it was a very simple dessert with egg whites and sugar. But one day a king tried it and liked it very much, but since he couldn't eat the same as the poor, he ordered that they add rum and vanilla, very expensive ingredients, thus making it a dessert only for the rich. And today it is a symbol for the city, if you don't try it it is as if you had not been to Bordeaux. There are 3 sizes and they are very economical. It's something you either love or don't like at all, but you have to try it and decide if you love it or hate it. There is also beer, candy, pâtés... many things have that peculiar flavor.
