La Tour des Vents sur Monbazillac

A truly lovely place for a wonderful surprise for my husband's 40th birthday. We had a fantastic meal. The service was attentive, just the right amount, and very discreet. The gourmet menu was absolutely divine. As we love discovering new flavors, we were delighted! We highly recommend it!

We came as a couple for a weekend getaway to escape the daily grind and relax. Unfortunately, the reception staff didn't bother to mention that a wedding was taking place on Saturday at the lodge. As a result, the wedding sound system was blasting outside the lodge, so from 5 pm to 2 am we were able to enjoy the festivities. What's more, the bride and groom had their photos taken right in front of our terrace, directly in front of the private jacuzzi… Frankly, I was disappointed by this interruption, as we were there to enjoy some peace and quiet. We were also very disappointed with the breakfast (€20 per person). Don't even think about asking for a cappuccino, or you'll get a hazelnut coffee… As for the service and the quality of the amenities, we were disappointed again. At €250 a night, we expect a minimum level of service (and I should mention that we are used to this type of establishment). The staff was a bit too casual and not attentive enough. The rooms are simple and lack quality decor, and the grounds are poorly maintained. However, we had a pleasant time at the bistro and Michelin-starred restaurant. The view is magnificent, and the food was delicious. It's fortunate the food was good because, for a Michelin-starred establishment, it lacked a certain elegance and modernity in our opinion! In short, good quality cuisine, average service, and regarding the setting, be sure to ask if a wedding is planned for the day of your reservation to avoid our disappointment.

We came for lunch on March 1st, 2026. The meal was very good, and the finesse of the dishes was remarkable. Special mention goes to the chocolate dessert, which was simply perfect. I would point out one small drawback: the "perfect egg" was served to us before we had finished our aperitif… I found this a little regrettable. The courses followed each other very quickly, perhaps too quickly for our liking, but this did not detract from the quality of the food. We were offered a complimentary glass of wine for our wedding anniversary, which is rare and deserves to be highlighted! The sommelier was very pleasant and exceptionally professional. Thank you.

A restaurant that lives up to its star rating. Very friendly service. And the dishes are simply gourmet.

Overall, we were disappointed by the gourmet menu we had on the 18th at lunchtime. Given the price (€88), we expected more flavor, especially in the first course (crab) and the third (veal). As the chef didn't leave his kitchen, we weren't able to discuss it with him. We like to dine at a Michelin-starred restaurant once or twice a year and are rarely disappointed, but this time we were.

I came for lunch, so I can't comment on the rooms. The restaurant was excellent, with a magnificent view. The meal was absolutely wonderful and a truly delightful experience. Thank you very much.

A truly wonderful experience; the gourmet menu allowed us to discover refined and delicious cuisine. We especially loved the crab dish and the desserts, presented like jewels under glass domes.

We dined at La Tour des Vents for my birthday. Unfortunately, we were disappointed by the service, especially considering it's a Michelin-starred restaurant. Our plates were cleared before we had even finished our last bite. I had also requested a non-bitter cocktail, but unfortunately, this wasn't honored. We chose the tasting menu: the presentation was visually appealing, but the taste experience didn't impress us. The plastic furniture (even with the cover) seemed disappointing for a restaurant of this caliber. The glasses were chipped, and the menus were served in English (my portion had the pages out of order; my partner was lucky enough to receive two copies in French)... several issues. We also found the sommelier's attitude somewhat inappropriate for this type of establishment. We are accustomed to Michelin-starred restaurants, but unfortunately, this one didn't impress us, and we wouldn't recommend it. On the other hand, we recommend the bistro at La Tour des Vents, where we had a much better experience a year ago.

An accessible Michelin-starred restaurant offering three different menus. We opted for the gourmet menu: the dishes were well-prepared, with sophisticated and refined flavors. However, having dined at several Michelin-starred restaurants, I found the service didn't quite live up to the standards one expects from a Michelin-starred establishment. We noted several disappointing aspects during the meal. For example, the "surf and turf" dish was served in a fish stock broth with a chanterelle mushroom, but unfortunately, we couldn't enjoy it as no spoons were brought to us. Furthermore, the wine service was inconsistent: we had to ask the waiter several times to have it poured. As for bread, it was only served at the beginning (one small roll per person) and then not at all during the rest of the meal. We only received a second portion with the cheese course, and even then, it was insufficient. What I mean by citing these examples is that customers who frequent a Michelin-starred restaurant aren't just looking for culinary excellence, but also a complete experience. In this type of establishment, every detail counts to achieve the expected level of excellence. At this stage, in my opinion, this restaurant hasn't quite reached that point yet.
