As part of my job, I travel a lot and I'm a regular at this restaurant, sometimes even bringing groups of Americans and other nationalities. I had lunch there myself today. My experience in other establishments—whether in Beaune, Dijon, Lyon, Paris, or elsewhere—gives me a good point of comparison. Every time I come, alone or with clients, the feedback is unanimous: they're thrilled, and I've never had a single negative comment. Furthermore, I've met many people at the Hôtel de la Cloche who came all the way from Dijon specifically to eat here, and their feedback was also consistently overwhelmingly positive. The setting is simply excellent, with a magnificent view of the garden. The dining room is perfectly air-conditioned, and a wonderful aroma greets you as soon as you walk in. I also appreciate the open kitchen concept: thanks to the window, you can see the whole team at work. They don't hide anything, whether it's the cooks, the servers, or the owners. What I particularly appreciate is the constant effort to beautify the place. The owner himself goes to great lengths to make the restaurant even more pleasant, both in terms of the food and the decor. With each visit, I notice new additions: the chairs and armchairs are regularly replaced, the paintwork is refreshed, and the entrance now boasts a magnificent, warm red. The attention to detail extends to the exclusive cushions placed at the entrance, which elegantly evoke the world of wine and corks. The service, meanwhile, is impeccable and relaxed. From the very first contact, the phone response is remarkably polite. Once there, the welcome is outstanding: they open the door for you and greet you properly. The owners make an exceptional team. The hostess, who acts as maître d'hôtel, usually takes the orders herself. She always checks in two or three times to ensure, with great care, that everything is going smoothly and that nothing is missing. As for the owner, the chef, he's everywhere at once: at the entrance, on the phone, in the kitchen... He's truly involved in every aspect of the business to make sure everything is perfect. Everyone is truly extraordinary, and this transparency, combined with such professionalism, proves that they have absolutely nothing to hide. That's why, when reading some online reviews, I'm very surprised. Of course, I completely respect criticism when it's objective and constructive. But reading some comments, you get the sense that it's much more subjective than anything else, and sometimes unjustifiably harsh towards people who are truly hard-working and giving their all. You can't please everyone, but faced with such dedication and such a pursuit of perfection, these attacks seem completely out of touch with reality. I have enormous respect for these professionals. A warm welcome, an excellent meal… we had a Smartbox as a gift… no problem since we mentioned it when booking by phone 😉 just one small drawback… it was very hot! But we will gladly return.

Great little gem of a restaurant, food and service were great. the restaurant is quite spacious and open, not quaint and cozy as one would expect for the area, but this didn't really matter to us, it was just surprising to see.
