A lovely, secluded spot in the heart of the countryside in the Dessoubre Valley. The restaurant has rustic charm and a cozy, intimate atmosphere; it was very peaceful that evening. We had a wonderful evening with friends. Excellent meal.
We came for lunch as a family (with two children) at La Truite du Moulin, a place I've been frequenting for almost 40 years—so you could say I know it well… and the quality is always consistently excellent.
The setting is simply exceptional: a magnificent valley, a very well-maintained restaurant, beautifully decorated for Easter, which creates a warm and inviting atmosphere. The dining room is comfortable, nicely heated by the fireplace, with beautiful paintings (probably by a local artist) and original sculptures.
The service was impeccable: the waitress was very professional, smiling, and natural. We immediately felt at ease, as if we were regulars.
As for the food: nothing to complain about.
Excellent peach aperitif, beautifully presented.
Generous and flavorful morel mushroom tart.
Ultra-fresh trout (from the tank), perfectly prepared.
Trout au bleu for me.
Trout meunière for my husband.
With melted butter and fresh lemon: simple, effective, perfect.
Special mention for the attention paid to children: a spontaneous offer to fillet the trout for my son—a detail that makes all the difference.
Desserts were also very good (children's ice cream + cherry sundae).
Clean restrooms, which completes a flawless experience.
👉 Conclusion: An authentic restaurant, consistently high-quality for decades. Setting, service, cuisine: everything is expertly executed. It's hard to find better in this category.
