La Verticale sur Belleme

One of the very few restaurants open in the evening in Bellême. The menu is very short because everything is fresh and homemade. The service is very pleasant and professional. The wine list is also short, with very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.

A real treat! Dishes prepared with fresh, local, seasonal produce, including vegetarian options, Toulouse delicacies, and marinated fish from Italy at the beginning of the week. A very extensive and eclectic wine list (and reasonably priced). The welcome and service are always warm and friendly, with genuine hospitality. Even the dessert is excellent! Except for the coffee; I'd prefer a local roaster to be truly committed to quality. 😉

Excellent lunch on the street-side terrace; vegetarian options are available, and the kitchen area is visible. Seasonal produce is used. The owner has a lively personality, which is a refreshing change from some impersonal establishments! Reservations are recommended.

The setting was very pleasant, but the portions were small for the price. The bottle of wine arrived open? The stuffed tomato had insufficient filling. The steak tartare was decent but too light as a main course. The dessert portions were good but small.

The atmosphere, the place, the team, and the owner are all incredibly welcoming! A must-try for the food. (Don't be shocked... But for an establishment like this, plan your visit and reserve your table; you'll understand ;-) )

Delicious and refined food that is prepared super fresh!! The enthusiastic owner has a great sense of humor and the service was very friendly. PS: the Chocolate Meullieux is definitely recommended.

The restaurant is very well located with a good atmosphere. The wine list is short but affordable and of good quality. The wines are described in detail on the list, which is very helpful. It's a place to have a drink and enjoy yourself. The service is friendly and the owner is funny. However, the food is not worth the trip. An English-style plate served on a dessert plate with two small potatoes, one slice of roast beef, and a very thin slice of herb-cured ham for €26… As a starter, a cream of pea soup in a saucer with half a radish, eaten in two spoonfuls. To entice you when you make a reservation, they make you believe the restaurant is full, but as the evening progresses, you realize the place is practically empty. It's a shame; it has the potential to be a great place with a bit more professionalism.
