La Vieille Enseigne sur Strasbourg

Pasamos unos días en Estrasburgo y probamos varios winstubs. Entre ellos, la Vieille enseigne era el favorito de todos. Puede que no tenga el encanto de Winstubs más viejos pero cuando se trata de la comida, absolutamente lo aplasta. Su choucroute fue de lejos el mejor que tuvimos y también lo fue su tarte a l oignon. Los camareros están muy ocupados pero disfrutan conectando con personas que están interesadas en su región: uno de ellos nos hizo descubrir el más increíble eaux de vie (aguardiente de frutas) Si yo fuera un lugareño, esto se convertiría en mi lugar para comer deliciosa comida local!

Last night when we were in Strasbourg we spontaneously stopped by and got a table for three people (2 adults and a child). What can you say: exactly the right choice! A beautifully decorated "Winstub" in the middle of Strasbourg with a small, fine menu that reflects the region very well. We had snails and veal head as an entrée, followed by zander on Riesling cabbage and beef fillet on chanterelles. The cheese variations were finally the final point. All courses were top: cooked to perfection and very excellent. The children's menu for the little ones also left nothing to be desired. If the food already made you happy, this was further increased by the very harmoniously put together wine list, which, in addition to the "big names", also includes other wineries that were previously unknown to the author. Browsing was fun and the bottle we selected was even more fun :-). Friendly and attentive service made the visit a wonderful evening. A big thank you to the whole team for this lovely evening.

Fantastic traditional Alsatian food - do yourself a favour when you’re in Strasbourg and come to this restaurant which is just a hop and a skip away from the touristy places, but miles away from the fare served there - here you get top quality traditional dishes served expertly in a beautiful restaurant with a lovely ambience. We’ll certainly be back!

The cordon bleu beef short ribs were very delicious, juicy and tender. I went to another restaurant and had the same dish, and it tasted beyond imagination. I also feel that the overall quality of the food here is very high.

Lost in the town centre this restaurant is a true bastion of real french cooking, with generous portions, and a strong regional influence. The food is outstanding and the wines fine. The service is efficient and friendly. The brazed Jamboneau ham is sublime. The sauerkraut is on another level.. I would reserve so as not to be turned away.. Fantastic table.

Very tasty, traditional Alsatian food. We had the snails and onion cake as a starter and then sauerkraut with pike perch or pate as the main course. Als was of very good quality and tasted delicious. The prices are reasonable, the ambience is dignified. Great if you want to eat regionally but don't feel like the hardcore meat dishes!

A great place to eat queen-style bites if you like that :)

Das Restaurant liegt in der Innenstadt. Man fühlt sich in einem eleganten hochwertigerem Bistro oder in einer stilsicher modernisierten Weinstube der nächsten Generation. Die Kunst an den Wänden trägt viel zum Ambiente bei, genauso wie der beeindruckende Weinkühlschrank hinter der Theke. Die Weinkarte ist sehr umfangreich und beinhaltet eine breite Vielfalt Elsässer Winzer. Viele der Weine werden mit einer guten Jahrgangstiefe angeboten. Die Speisekarte ist ganz auf die Elsässer Küche ausgerichtet. Die Produkte sind von herausragender Qualität, Frische und sind sehr gut zubereitet. Man kann sich hier ein schönes Menu zusammenstellen und so eine Gourmet-Reise durch das Elsass (selbstverständlich auch mit sehr gutem Käse) erleben. Wer die klassische Elsässer Küche auf sehr gutem Niveau genießen möchte, ist hier richtig, absolut empfehlenswert.
