La Vieille Forge sur Mesquer

For our fifth visit to our favorite forge, we were delighted to rediscover the inventive cuisine of its "blacksmith," who also knows so well how to enhance his dishes with local herbs (wild garlic, tansy, ground ivy, etc.) and those from further afield (acai, soursop). The "blacksmith's wife" offers her guests a warm and unpretentious welcome in the authentic and peaceful setting that gives the place its charm.

We were at the restaurant on Easter Sunday, which is in a pleasant setting. The food was high quality, made with good ingredients. The dessert—a chocolate egg—was very much enjoyed.

Not a single flaw! From the appetizer to the dessert, including the simple, friendly, and attentive service, we had a truly unique experience. Kudos to the chef for the dishes and kudos to the service.

The decor wasn't to our taste, but it was very clean. The vegetable dishes were excellent, and the original creations were enhanced with surprising colors and flavors. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.

A wonderful discovery with delicious, beautifully presented dishes, original creations, expertly explained, and excellent wine recommendations, including a Côtes de Toul white, a Lorraine wine worth discovering. All this in a very pleasant setting. Already recommended to friends. Looking forward to returning to the region for some lovely walks around Mesquer.

Third visit and still the same pleasure! The service is as attentive, precise, and warm as ever. The cuisine is as refined and original as ever! Definitely a return visit!

Back to La Vieille Forge! Once again, we had a wonderful meal! The chef's dishes and presentation are consistently delightful! First, the visuals are always so creative, followed by the flavors—a discovery with each course, and what a discovery it is! The dishes are meticulously prepared and executed. From the first glance to the last bite, a surprise awaits! It's a gourmet restaurant, and you'll understand why when the plates arrive! And yet, the prices aren't exorbitant like in some other fine dining establishments! Thank you both for your hard work and dedication! The owner, as always, is incredibly attentive to her guests and offers excellent advice on wines and dish descriptions! We highly recommend it to all our clients; it's a must-visit in Mesquer! You won't be disappointed! Thank you for this excellent experience!

Once again, we were captivated by this delightful culinary experience. The welcome and service were exceptionally warm and attentive. The atmosphere was very pleasant and inviting. The dishes were of high quality and exquisitely refined. The chef's passion shines through in every plate, from the amuse-bouche to the dessert. We will return with great pleasure soon, as it is a truly magical moment for both the eyes and the palate. A wonderful place that we highly recommend.
