A friendly, family atmosphere. We started with excellent homemade tuna rillettes, followed by mussels and fries paired with a delicious white wine from the Charente region. Reasonable prices. We'll be back.

Cannot fault this establishment. Very friendly service from the moment we arrived, we did not have a recommendation but were welcomed in. We had the menu du jour all of which was the best food we have had on our week stay in the area. Welcoming and homely vibe but with top tier food, drinks and service.

If La Villette didn't exist, it would have to be invented. It's a restaurant we love to eat at whenever we're in the area, and have been for many, many years. I highly recommend this restaurant 👍

Pleasant place, quiet atmosphere and good food. I received good service and the experience was positive. I just think that some details in the service and presentation could be improved to make it perfect. Overall, I recommend it.

While passing through Rochefort, we had a fantastic meal at this brasserie. The owners were very friendly and the food was really good. I highly recommend it without hesitation!

29/07/2026: A nice hotel in a beautiful and facinating area. Good pool and an amazing restaurant for dinner. Service was great in the restaurant and reception too. Unfortunately we faced a really rude lady in the breakfast room. She made us feel like we were for some reason not good enogh to visit her hotelbreakfast. The woman left us feeling strange and for that reason we had to take on star away from this otherwise lovely and beautiful hotel…
02/06/2026: We have stayed here before, the hotel is lovely in a fantastic location. However, this time we just had dinner. They've reduced the menu, and it's not as good. Happily the staff are still attentive and friendly. The location by the river, where you can enjoy drinks on the lawn, is perfect. Please Mercure: review your menu.

23/08/2026: We ate as a family (8 people) on a superb terrace despite the unpredictable weather. All the staff were excellent. The owner was very kind and approachable, and really took the time to chat with her customers (which is very rare these days). As for the food, from the appetizers to the desserts, everything was a delight for the taste buds. And the children's menus, with fish and meat options, were incredible.
23/08/2026: A lovely spot on Rochefort's marina. Equally pleasant on the terrace and inside, it's cozy and bright. Generous portions and delicious cuisine. Friendly and attentive staff. Good value for money.
