We had lunch at this lovely family-run restaurant in the heart of the charming village of Piana, and it was one of the best meals we’ve had in Corsica. My partner ordered the Corsican menu. His starter was a delicious wild boar terrine — super flavorful and perfectly seasoned. For the main course, he had grilled lamb chops served with brocciu (regional goat’s milk cheese) cannelloni in a rich tomato sauce. As dessert, he enjoyed a homemade tiramisu that was light, creamy, and absolutely delicious. I chose the Fisherman’s menu. It started with a local fish soup called aziminu, served with garlic-mayo croutons (rouille) and grated cheese — one of the best bouillabaisse-style soups I’ve ever had. For the main, the waiter brought a tray of the day’s fresh catch, sourced that very morning from the bay. I picked the sole, a flatfish that came pan-fried and served with fries — perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, and moist and tender inside. For dessert, I had a traditional chestnut pudding (pudding à la châtaigne), a wonderful way to finish the meal. Everything was incredibly fresh, beautifully cooked, and full of authentic Corsican flavor. The food is traditional and unpretentious, but executed with care and confidence — truly phenomenal. The staff were also extremely friendly and welcoming. They even brought a bowl of water for our dog, and we had a lovely chat with them during the meal. A genuine gem — simple, honest, and outstanding cuisine. Highly recommended!
