A warm welcome, overlooking the ocean, top-quality food, a generously filled galette of the day with scallops, shrimp, and leek fondue for €21 – frankly, bravo! 👍 And an equally generous dessert. A wonderful discovery to share.

While passing through Les Sables d’Olonne, we had lunch at L’Aiglon. When I got home and looked more closely at the bill, I noticed I was charged an extra €2.50 because I ordered a buckwheat galette for dessert instead of a wheat crêpe. I'm gluten intolerant, and crêperies are one of the few places where I can eat gluten-free thanks to buckwheat galettes. So, you pay a high price for your food intolerances! This is the first time this has ever happened to me, but as they say, there's a first time for everything (unfortunately)!
I would just like to know what could justify this extra charge, considering I already paid for a wheat crêpe in the original meal, which cost €10.50? Thank you in advance for your reply… I know that buckwheat flour is more expensive than wheat flour, but if I'm not mistaken, a buckwheat galette is made of flour, water, and salt, while a wheat crêpe is made of flour, eggs, milk, and butter—more ingredients, and therefore more expensive. According to my estimates, a galette costs 15 to 20 cents to make, while a crêpe costs 30 to 35 cents. That's why other crêperies don't charge extra… Best regards

A well-run establishment, both in the kitchen and the dining room, managed by a couple who respect their customers. A real delight; I, who usually prefer a classic crêpe, often order a complete meal, thoroughly enjoyed the scallop and prawn crêpe.
