A warm welcome, overlooking the ocean, top-quality food, a generously filled galette of the day with scallops, shrimp, and leek fondue for €21 – frankly, bravo! 👍 And an equally generous dessert. A wonderful discovery to share.

While passing through Les Sables d’Olonne, we had lunch at L’Aiglon. When I got home and looked more closely at the bill, I noticed I was charged an extra €2.50 because I ordered a buckwheat galette for dessert instead of a wheat crêpe. I'm gluten intolerant, and crêperies are one of the few places where I can eat gluten-free thanks to buckwheat galettes. So, you pay a high price for your food intolerances! This is the first time this has ever happened to me, but as they say, there's a first time for everything (unfortunately)! I would just like to know what could justify this extra charge, considering I already paid for a wheat crêpe in the original meal, which cost €10.50? Thank you in advance for your reply… I know that buckwheat flour is more expensive than wheat flour, but if I'm not mistaken, a buckwheat galette is made of flour, water, and salt, while a wheat crêpe is made of flour, eggs, milk, and butter—more ingredients, and therefore more expensive. According to my estimates, a galette costs 15 to 20 cents to make, while a crêpe costs 30 to 35 cents. That's why other crêperies don't charge extra… Best regards

A well-run establishment, both in the kitchen and the dining room, managed by a couple who respect their customers. A real delight; I, who usually prefer a classic crêpe, often order a complete meal, thoroughly enjoyed the scallop and prawn crêpe.

31/05/2026: We arrived late for lunch, a party of six, and were promptly served on a sunny Mother's Day Sunday at the beach. No complaints whatsoever. The food was delicious and plentiful, and the service and staff were pleasant, contrary to some negative reviews. Let's not forget that behind every expectation, the servers are still human beings, running around trying their best to ensure our satisfaction. Great experience, and best of luck to the staff.
30/05/2026: This restaurant was a pleasant surprise! I was expecting yet another overpriced tourist trap like you often find on the seafront in busy areas… But not at all! My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Everything was delicious, the homemade fries were amazing, the prices were reasonable for a beachfront location, and the service was very friendly. From now on, it will be our go-to spot for any future stay in Les Sables 😉
