L'apage Refuge Restaurant sur Beaufort

Edit: two reviews one year apart (initial review below). 2024: Two passages in a few days, two disappointments. A chaotic service in good weather (record attendance), our orders arrived after an hour and a half of waiting for our reservation. Lost afternoon of skiing, lack of communication and flat excuses. 2023: A very pleasant lunch with a smiling, friendly team and cuisine that delivers at full speed. Ideal for a quick stop to taste local products on the slopes. Reservations essential during school periods.

Magnificent panorama for a coffee or mulled wine between 2 slopes and obligatory stop for lunch on the terrace. Excellent welcome from all the staff and the house dog! Daily specials (including 1 vegetarian) or menu with traditional dishes with good products…yum!

In this restaurant on this high hill I stopped with my family and had lunch twice. An incredibly beautiful view stretches in all directions and some very well-groomed tracks with a lot of snow are worth stopping not just once to drink at least a very nice coffee, well done, keep going!!

Lunch break between two ski slopes. Upon entering we are greeted by warm and smiling staff. The dish of the day was excellent and extremely generous. The final score, for its part, was very modest considering the quality, quantity and friendliness of the place.

Two meals this weekend in the refuge's restaurant, each time with a warm welcome. Very good dish of the day and a well-stocked menu, all with reasonable prices. We will definitely return.

This was our second time having lunch here on a day ski trip from Lyon. Once on a lovely bluebird day and this one with whiteout conditions and cold. But both days the refuge was lovely and welcoming with a vegetarian plat du jour which was very nice, not just some pasta dish. Looking forward to more meals there in the near future. 5 star if more veggie options letting us try more of their lovely food.
