This is a classic inn complete with its own pub, as in days of yore, right in the thick of things at Valmorel. The proprietors are marvelously friendly and helpful. (I came for the Spartan race and finished later than planned and after check out and they were understanding and even let me shower!) Rooms are charmingly rustic and comfortable. Discounts at restaurants and ski rental with your stay is nice too. Overall, terrific and cozy stay close to everything.

Central 3* family run hotel with comfortable en suite rooms, friendly and helpful service team and wonderful cosy pub bar.

Worth staying. Room clean, hotel well-kept and well presented. Staff are 10/10, huge credit to the hotel. Always so happy to help with anything at all, including restaurant reservations. Polite and friendly. The small pub inside the hotel is a bonus. The sauna 30min slot that you can book is a plus too. I liked that we spent so little to go on a ski trip. Breakfast included is helpful. Ski piste access - took a few days in to realise which is a shame, but walking to/from Planchamp lift is WAY easier than getting the Telebourg to acceess the pistes. If you need to go to Pierrafort lift or Mottet ESF ecole du ski meeting point, then you’ll need to get telebourg. If you’re a competent skiier just start out at Planchamp as it’s way easier. Ski/pole/boot room was a little small and didn’t have boot warmers, not much space to put your boots on. You get what you pay for. Breakfast is OK though selection is limited. I gave up going in the end. Hugely overcrowded at peak time (though being allowed to eat in the pub helped). I had to find a staff member and specifically ask for soya milk every morning, I wish they had just left it out with the normal milk. We were lucky to get a room that didn’t share a wall with anyone else, however you could still hear people coming back and being incredibly loud after midnight, and in the mornings some sort of truck would constantly drive by, also heard scraping of shovels one morning around 0730 which was quite inconsiderate (i doubt by staff of the hotel but other people maintaining the walkway). People don’t care about the noise they make at this resort. Multiple nights of people shouting and screaming and laughing at 0100/0200/0300. Strange, never had this before. It was an issue at our friend’s hotel across the road too, so not specific to Hotel du Bourg. Small point but the ‘do not disturb’ door sign constantly falls off the door, was so annoying, ended up having to leave it on the floor outside the room.
