L'Arbre à Pain sur Altier

A lovely spot, shaded terrace, quality dishes, local produce, all in a relaxed and very friendly atmosphere. Efficient service. The Belgian fries are excellent. Yes, the owner is of Belgian origin and super friendly.

We had dinner, an overnight stay, and breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful (cook, waiters, and housekeeper). The room was spacious and tastefully decorated; it just lacked a privacy screen on the railing of the exterior walkway to protect us from the road and parking lot (or a curtain between the patio door and the shutters). In this heat, we wanted to open the only window and feel more comfortable in the room's private space, which isn't possible as it is.

We received a very warm welcome during our visit to the restaurant, which offers delicious dishes made with local produce. The terrace is also very pleasant. The interior decor is tasteful. A delight for the taste buds in a warm and inviting setting.

A rare warmth and friendliness. Genuine attention to customer well-being. Good, simple, and generous cuisine. The place is very quiet, even though it's on the street front. Hardly any passing traffic. Well done to the team. A pleasant time spent at your establishment.

A real gem! We had a fantastic meal at L’Arbre à Pain, in the heart of the Cévennes mountains in Lozère. Fresh, local, regional products, cooked with passion. We spent four days and three nights at L'Arbre à Pain and the experience was excellent. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The cuisine is generous: the chef works exclusively with local produce, and the result is outstanding (special mention for the Belgian fries). We dined there every evening, which speaks volumes. But it's the staff who truly make the difference: available and attentive from the first day to the last. Thank you to the entire team for a very successful stay.

It was a real treat to come to your restaurant as a family; your dishes are delicious, a simple yet effective menu featuring fresh ingredients. A fantastic experience, a truly warm and attentive team (special mention to the magician of a waiter)! And what can I say about the food? Everything is homemade, perfectly cooked, and delicious! The value for money is more than excellent. The owner was incredibly kind from the first call to make the reservation until our departure. We'll be back as soon as possible! Don't hesitate to go!

A wonderful surprise for our first visit to the region! This little roadside restaurant in the charming village of Altier delighted our taste buds from appetizer to dessert, all served by exceptionally friendly staff... a special shout-out to the chef who impressed me with his chestnut crème brûlée, which I will forever remember as the best I've ever had!!! (Even though everything else was perfect, as they say, dessert is the highlight of the meal, and in this case, it's a 10/10!)

This is my second time eating here, and it's simply fantastic. The food is excellent, the welcome is warm, and the local produce is top-notch, all for €16 for a main course and... €20 with a starter. I recommend the trout tartare or the Pelardon cheese salad. Thanks to the whole team! The bus driver 😉
