L'Arbre sur Gruson

Having recently moved to a restaurant near ours, we kept walking past, wanting to book a table. We came last week and it was a delightful discovery! The food was delicious, the setting pleasant, and the atmosphere relaxed, with the owner seeming very approachable. One thing is for sure, we'll be back with great pleasure! However, we did have a slight reservation about the portion sizes; we would have liked a bit more of the main course. We ordered the steak menu, and my partner was left wanting more.

A beautiful spring day allowed us to enjoy lunch on the terrace overlooking the fields. We opted for the four-course mystery menu, beautifully presented on elegant plates. The portions were generous. The service was attentive without being intrusive; the owner, Benoit Bernard, is attentive to his guests with his own unique style. The ingredients were of excellent quality: the first asparagus of the season was perfectly cooked and accompanied by a sauce that was both light and flavorful. The turbot was delicious, served with a sauce that highlighted its delicate texture. If we absolutely had to find a fault, it would be the slightly too firm meringue on the pavlova, but this was quickly forgotten because the coulis, whipped cream, and fruit duxelles were perfectly executed. Would we return? Absolutely!

Lunch on the sunny terrace overlooking the fields. The first asparagus of the season was served with a delicious mousseline sauce, the turbot was cooked to perfection, and the fruit dessert was a delight, crafted with care by the pastry chef. The wine list was exceptional, and the service was professional yet relaxed. A truly wonderful restaurant featuring seasonal produce.

Not just an address, but a paradise… let's not talk about Ben (his reputation precedes him!), but about this incredible place in the heart of the countryside, only 17 minutes from Lille… a warm welcome, an amazing menu, a breathtaking setting… In short, I won't say too much, come and experience it for yourself! Congratulations!

A truly wonderful restaurant, **L’Arbre**, nestled in a rather unique setting: a secluded house in the heart of the countryside 🌿. I opted for the "pavé" menu, and it was a resounding success from start to finish: delicately tender veal, perfectly melting pork cheek served with flavorful new potatoes, and then a rich and comforting rice pudding with tonka beans 😋. The dishes are out of the ordinary yet remain accessible, offering excellent value for money. You can sense a real attention to detail in the flavors and combinations. Special mention goes to the ever-present Chef **Benoît Bernard**, who circulates throughout the dining room and fully contributes to the restaurant's warm and authentic atmosphere. A truly delightful and welcoming experience ⭐.

A beautiful place spoiled by the poor service and the behavior of one of the waitresses. The food was fairly decent, except for the desserts, which need improvement. We were served a radish in oil with its stem as an amuse-bouche, which we, of course, loved. So, meh!

We came for Grandmothers' Day and were treated like royalty. A friendly atmosphere and refined cuisine go hand in hand. We'll definitely be back.

Dinner last night for my birthday. Unbeatable value for money. Pleasant setting in the middle of the fields. Efficient, friendly service with a great sense of humor 😉. As for the meal, it was delicious. Refined, flavorful, and beautifully presented. High-quality ingredients. Excellent wines with a wide selection. I had a memorable time. Thank you to the whole team.
