L'ardoise d'Audrey et Nico sur Saint-Maximin-La-Sainte-Baume

A very good experience at this restaurant in Calais city center. The establishment is often very busy, especially during peak season, so reservations are highly recommended. The atmosphere is friendly but extremely noisy. The staff is pleasant and efficient. We were served quite quickly despite the crowd. The cuisine is classic but well-executed. Special mention goes to the beef tartare, which was delicious. The prices are reasonable, in line with what you would typically find at other establishments of this type.

A very good restaurant with excellent food. Unfortunately, my experience was severely marred by the owner's attitude towards her staff. During the meal, the constant directives and remarks were particularly unpleasant and made me feel uncomfortable, to the point of feeling stressed while eating. I fully understand that service requires organization and high standards, but I believe that comments should be made respectfully and, above all, away from the customers. Being a waiter is already an increasingly difficult job. If employees also have to endure constant pressure in front of customers, it will be difficult to retain staff in the long term. Given some of the comments already on Google, perhaps it would be beneficial for management to take a step back and reflect on their approach. The restaurant is large enough to find a place where they can communicate calmly with their employees, without belittling them in front of customers. It's a real shame, because the food is very good and the restaurant has potential. I sincerely hope these comments will be taken into account, because a good atmosphere in the dining room is just as important as the quality of the food.
