We have tried several restaurants in the Carcassonne region over a weeks period. Until today, we have suffered from getting poor quality, over priced food that is not what we are used to in France.
Today changed that. We read a few reviews of a little bar/restaurant in Arzens and decided to give it a try. And it was well worth the visit. Home made food with lots of flavour at a reasonable price. Service was good. The only negative for us was the smoking - supposed to be illegal to smoke inside public areas but not the case here the bar. The strong smell did affect our experience.

A typical southern French tavern.
Here the boss still cooks himself and he does it all by himself. That's why sometimes you have to wait. I think it's worth it.
The pizzas here are so heavenly different than in Italy...
We always come back when we are here.

We knew this little restaurant in the village, well done for the very good pizza, the waiter who gives his all and is very kind. Top boss, I recommend.
Very good discovery. The service is pleasant, professional, the boss in the kitchen makes good dishes, copious black angus, the meal was good, the salmon ditto
