L'Assignat sur Paris

Timeless café It's a shame the service is so vague, with unclear rules about how to order. It's the kind of place where you either love it or hate it. The coffee is good.

L'Assignat is a true institution in the neighborhood. It was recommended to me by a Parisian uncle who used to go there when he was a student. The prices haven't changed much since. Finding authentic bistros like this one, at prices well below the neighborhood standard, with real charm and history, is rare! I recommend it for people who enjoy relaxing in a quiet corner, a place that's holding its own against a disappearing neighborhood life. A very good glass of wine, fresh bread, and a generous cheese plate for €11. The owner is very friendly, as is his dog. :)
