L'Auberge du Cloitre sur Nieul-Sur-L'Autise

2ème fois que je viens. Autant l'année dernière j'avais été conquis, autant cette année ce n'était pas à la hauteur de mon souvenir. En arrivant on nous annonce, pas de carte aujourd'hui, juste le menu du jour et dans le menu pas de choix : - en entrée une quiche froide avec salade (bof) - en plat, plus qu'un seul plat (nous sommez arrivéa à 12H30 pourtant, donc pas en fin de service), donc obligatoirement poulet au riz (mais c'était bon) - seul le dessert proposait une alternative. Les deux choix était bons. Service sympathique et efficace (presque trop rapide). Par contre le restaurant était plein un midi en semaine, en général c'est bon signe, peut être qu'on est mal tombé ?

Excellent discovery of this hostel. I won't talk about the food which is very good. Others will do it as well or better than me. I would like to emphasize many small details or attentions which show that the staff and owners are more attentive to customer expectations than to profitability. A choice of original and extended formulas: possibility of 2 starters + 1 dessert, for example. This does not prevent you from having the usual starter, main course and dessert, but it allows other choices. The tables in the garden far enough away from each other so as not to be polluted by neighbors' conversations. Good background music but soft enough so that we can chat without raising our voices. A bottle of water placed on the table without forcing your hand to buy mineral water. Attentive and friendly waitresses who answer questions and when they are unsure, come back with the answer. Little waiting between dishes, but no "pressure" either. Good value for money and kindness to boot. If you go to Nieul sur l'Autise, don't hesitate: choose this inn, you will not be disappointed.

Courteous welcome. Quiet restaurant. Warm atmosphere. The servers are listening. The food is very good and plentiful.

Impeccably clean rooms. Friendly welcome and extremely pleasant concert terrace. You can eat, sleep, have a drink, play board games, attend a concert..... And what's more, the village is superb (abbey and mill to visit)

Dinner in the garden at the back of this pretty inn. Great meal, very good products, for both adults and children, and quite surprising value for money! To recommend without hesitation

A meal of two halves. Score is the average. Small menu (which I believe is a good thing), but limits vegetarian selection. Meat meal was 4 star, vegetarian 2 star Chips were excellent
