A quite rare experience. We found L’Augergeade because unusually it is open on Mondays. However we were thrilled at the culinary art of the chef, when the amuse bouche of mushroom filled ravioli in an Asian fusion sauce, was followed by equally exciting starters. My fois gras ravioli with a truffle sauce was perfectly balanced and finished. The dorade with courgette flakes and a very light, subtle sauce, was cooked to a creamy , slightly undercooked perfection. And my wife’s leg of rabbit was equally carefully roasted, with a nicely balanced cream truffle sauce. To our surprise, we were finally served with a meltingly soft, strawberry tart.
The wine list is a marvel, extensive and French focussed, particularly on the central Loire region; all at honest, great value prices. Madam is expert on her wines.
Truly excellent!
Address that really deserves to be known.
Coming from the Toulouse region, we went there last night for the 60th birthday of my sister-in-law who lives nearby.
The staff, very pleasant, served us the “business” menu.
The foie gras ravioli are succulent and
the Black Angus steak heart was a real treat, it cut like butter and melted under the tongue.
In short, we had a wonderful time there.
I highly recommend.
