L'Avalanche restaurant sur Saint-Sorlin-D'Arves

We came to eat as a group of five and the restaurant was very, very good. The food was excellent, the atmosphere very friendly, and the service very personal.

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The welcome is warm, the atmosphere and decor are perfect! Everything is delicious, the fondues are exceptional, the salads are fantastic, and the pizzas are excellent. I highly recommend it!

We had a wonderful meal with the family. The pizzas were fantastic, and so was the pizza maker 😉.

Honestly, this is a place to remember! The pizzas are delicious, with a perfectly made crust and generous toppings. But the incredible surprise was the steak: perfectly cooked, tender and flavorful meat, truly exceptional. And how could I not mention the gratin? A delight, creamy and perfectly crispy, just the way we like it. Everything was perfect, I highly recommend it. Thank you for this wonderful experience. Honestly, it's very rare that I eat at the same restaurant three times in one week. Each time it was fantastic.

Disclaimer: this review has been changed after communication with the owners. (Original one below) New review: Apparently there has been a miscommunication. When we saw the raclette cheese arriving our first thought was: "this is not enough". So one of us asked the staff if refills are possible, their answer: "no, this is everything, they have measured 250 gram per person." This made us not question it again and just feel unsatisfied. After our review they have told us that yes we could have asked for more. This is a staff communication issue, that made some of us leave hungry. But since the charcuterie was nice and the pizza as well, I'm still willing to give 3 stars. ----------------------------- Old review: *Two stars* We've been eating raclette for the past 8 years. Never were we as disappointed as here. The portion available is half of what we got in past 7 years. Should've checked the raclette reviews before... For reference the piece of cheese shown is for 4(!) people. The pizza we had was nice at least.

We had two delicious pizzas, and the service was friendly. They were able to serve our group of 10 quickly and efficiently!

L'Avalanche is a restaurant I highly recommend! The dishes are delicious, as are the desserts. Special mention to our waitress that evening, who was very friendly and exceptionally kind.
