21/09/2025: A restaurant open on Sunday at lunchtime is already rare! But when the experience is also excellent, it's even rarer!!! Located opposite the church of St. Jouvent on the outskirts of Limoges, from the outside it looks like a village restaurant, with its wide-open door. You walk in and everyone greets you! Incredible, it still exists! Bar, restaurant, lottery games, a wood-burning stove that hints at beautiful fires, tables and chairs like you'd find in small village restaurants! Remember (for those of you who are older), you often found a warm welcome and an atmosphere of sharing ideas and well-being there! Well, St. Jouvent is all of that: a warm and friendly owner, happy to please his customers, who is simultaneously a bartender, restaurateur, cook, waiter, and once all that is done, probably also a cleaner, dishwasher, etc.
He knows how to put people at ease, without being intrusive, always with a smile. The food is made with simple, high-quality ingredients, beautifully presented, with thoughtful touches we'd almost forgotten. But for him, it's completely natural; there was no pretense in his behavior. Finding him couldn't be easier! Waze will take you there; it's only 3 km from the main road, so it's super quick.
Simply put, great atmosphere, excellent food—simple, delicious, and beautifully presented!
The owner is super friendly and genuine, and the price for a Sunday lunch is more than reasonable. You'll leave feeling satisfied, that's for sure!
One last thing: during the next COVID-style crisis, remember who helped you out? Because I'm not sure they'll still be around if something like that happens!
Thank you to him.
