Nous sommes tombés par hasard en premier sur ce petit restaurant en arrivant à Chartres, à l'heure de déjeuner, après avoir gravi des marches pour aller vers la cathédrale. Bonne pioche ! Inutile d'aller chercher plus loin ! L'endroit est tranquille (un peu en retrait, sur le côté de la cathédrale), la carte était alléchante et le cadre, dans une vieille maison, charmant. La carte ne mentait pas, nous nous sommes régalés. Et le prix est très raisonnable. Je recommande VIVEMENT ! Mais ne trainez pas pour vous décider, c'est petit, il n'y a que quelques tables, pour les chanceux.

En terrasse au calme juste à côté de la cathédrale (loin des travaux), un petit restaurant bien sympathique: le 21. La carte n'est pas grande (trois plats + entrées/ desserts) mais la cuisine y est savoureuse et l'hôtesse de bons conseils pour les vins. Le plats de poisson et le tataki de boeuf étaient juste parfait. En dessert, une brioche perdue avec des fruits secs pour terminer en beauté. Un bon moment passé a Chartre pour un prix démocratique.

Ellan Vannin Pub Irlandais

17/09/2024: I was desperately looking for a pub in Chartres, but a REAL one! I was looking for a decor, an atmosphere and of course: the menu that goes with it. Finally I found it after many fruitless and disappointing searches. The Ellan-Vannin is EXACTLY what I was looking for. The atmosphere and decor reminds me of certain old school London pubs where I had my habits, woodwork and posters glorifying what the occupants like. What can I say about the menu... First time I've seen draft Guinness in Chartres, I'm in heaven, and a myriad of Whiskeys, I've arrived in paradise! The boss welcomed me like a genuine man, you can believe that he is not smiling but his heart shows through as the conversation progresses. Should I say an “ancient host”? (Be careful, in my words this is one of the greatest compliments). I love everything about this pub, without having tasted their food yet (but I couldn't resist posting my opinion already) I saw the nibbles they served, it's made with love and that to looks delicious! I FINALLY found it and I can't wait to go back! A new regular.
12/08/2024: One of our favorite bars! The atmosphere is cool, the choice of drinks is vast and the team is top notch! Not to mention the most significant: the chef's cuisine.
