Le 500 Bornes sur Lempdes-Sur-Allagnon

A small, old-fashioned restaurant with a unique, authentic feel. Personally, I love these little places: starter, main course, local cheese, and dessert for €15—very reasonable! Simple but delicious food, in my opinion! Flavors might criticize the interior and cleanliness; honestly, it's a bit lacking. The welcome is supposedly cold, but I didn't find it that way at all! If you enjoy quirky little village restaurants, you can definitely stop by 😜 Stop with the prejudices, form your own opinion!

Going in, you're scared; leaving, you feel like you've won a challenge on Survivor! It's far from fine dining, but that's not what you come here for... it's local fare, so shy people, move along lol

"Le 500 Bornes," a legendary bar on the old RN9. Still preserved in its original state, a bar from a bygone era. A fine collection of Tweety Bird figurines, a stuffed deer head, the owner from the Auvergne region is straightforward, the bar smells of dog because our animal friends are welcome, €1.90 for a refreshing syrup.

We stopped there in the early afternoon with our two children, on our way to our holiday destination. Happy to have found this place and wanting to do the right thing, we ordered two coffees and two fruit juices, but to our surprise, when it came time to pay, the gentleman, who had been very kind, told us that we could only pay by card for orders over €12, which is already illegal—it's illegal to impose a minimum spend on the customer. The owner came over, gave us a dirty look, and spoke to us very curtly, claiming it was posted on the front door. We left quickly. Not at all friendly!

A traditional bistro, the likes of which are no longer found! A very warm, local atmosphere... and top-notch Saint-Nectaire cheese. The owner is in the kitchen and the owner is behind the bar. At the entrance to the Georges circuit.
