We would have loved for the chef to come to the dining room for a little while. I recommend this place without hesitation.

25/04/2026: A very pleasant welcome, everyone was smiling, the dining room is truly original, the service impeccable, and the food a delight: superb veal andouillette... an absolutely perfect iced verbena dessert... the value for money is excellent... we were passing through Le Puy-en-Velay and I'm so glad I chose L'Écu d'Or... thank you to the whole team and congratulations on the quality of your work.

The food was excellent and the value for money unbeatable (24 euros for a starter, main course, and dessert, including an amuse-bouche), the service was incredibly efficient, warm, and friendly, and the vaulted stone dining room was magnificent. A truly memorable experience that should serve as an example to many restaurants! I can't wait for my next trip to Le Puy to go back.

06/04/2026: A truly beautiful place. Excellent, very personalized welcome. A superb amuse-bouche and generous portions. And above all, truly homemade products: the smoked trout is made on-site! The main courses are very good… and incredibly generous… The cheese platter is a real treat: all you can eat! And the desserts… to die for! I don't usually like chestnuts, but the pear on chestnut cake is absolutely delicious. A truly wonderful place!
