Le Bac à Traille sur Valence

We had already had the pleasure of dining at Le Bac à Traille during a residency with Chef Hugo Riboulet, and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. This week, we were tempted by the Asian menu, and it was another wonderful discovery! A veritable feast of appetizers, with very different flavors and plenty of surprises. There was a small mistake with the main course, which didn't spoil our experience at all. We simply pointed it out, and the chef thoughtfully prepared a little surprise for us with dessert as an apology. A gesture we truly appreciated. Original cuisine, beautiful flavors, and an attentive team. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ well deserved! We will gladly return.

A magnificent and excellent restaurant! Impeccable service, a tastefully decorated dining room, delicious cuisine, and original, unexpected dishes. We enjoyed a truffle-themed menu, which was truly excellent! The dining room was warm and inviting, and we felt very comfortable. The price is perfectly in line with the quality of the food and the restaurant in general. The parking lot right in front is a real bonus. We will definitely return!

We were very disappointed to find ourselves in a brasserie within a Michelin-starred restaurant, with a menu offering very few choices, including a starter of pâté and a main course of fish and chips.

Very disappointed. I put this restaurant on my Christmas list without checking reviews, based on a friend's recommendation. €144 including drinks for two. Upon arrival, I was already very disappointed by the ambiance for a bistro-style restaurant. Then, there was no classic aperitif (Martini, Ricard, etc.). Not everything on the menu was available. The starter was a Caesar salad (the kind of dish you'd find as a daily special in a neighborhood restaurant). The dessert was a bland praline meringue. There are much better restaurants in the area for the price. I do not recommend it.

The food was good, but I'm a little disappointed for several reasons. The flavors: the dishes lack a Japanese touch, which is precisely what one expects when going to this renowned chef's restaurant. The setting: you walk through a narrow and rather unrefined corridor to reach the dining room. The service: we were brought dessert after our starter; we had to specify that we were waiting for the main course first!
