Le Baobab sur Allassac

21/03/2026: A wonderful discovery at Auberge du Cheval Blanc. A truly successful meal from start to finish. For my starter, I had foie gras, which was excellent. Very well prepared and incredibly flavorful. One small detail that makes all the difference: the bread. Honestly, incredible. Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, exactly like bread from a good artisan bakery. The owner explained that it comes from a local bakery, and you can taste the difference immediately. For my main course, I chose a beef steak, perfectly cooked and very tender. It was accompanied by golden-brown potatoes and small vegetables, all with a very flavorful wine sauce that complemented the meat perfectly. Next, a very pleasant cheese platter, with excellent, well-chosen cheeses. And to finish, a truly delicious chocolate fondant: a perfectly gooey, decadent center, with a touch of sweetness around the edge. A real treat. In short, a simple but very well-executed meal, with quality ingredients and plenty of flavor. We really enjoyed ourselves. A place to remember.
