Le Baradoz sur Versailles

A Great Local Beer Spot for a Nightcap During our stay in Versailles, we visited Baradoz on Rue de Satory on two evenings. This small beer bar is located in the heart of one of the liveliest streets in the Saint-Louis district and is perfect for a nightcap. The beer selection is pleasingly diverse. Both times, I opted for a Volcelest Ambrée, a locally brewed amber-colored beer that was particularly refreshing on the very warm summer evenings. Malty, with a hint of caramel, yet very easy to drink – a real find for me. You order at the bar using the self-service system. It was straightforward. The small outdoor terrace puts you right in the middle of the action on Rue de Satory: a young, urban crowd, regulars, tourists, and a generally lively atmosphere. However, the furniture would have been a bit too uncomfortable for a longer evening. Stools, small tables, and standing room are better suited for a drink or two than for lingering for several hours. However, Baradoz serves its purpose very well as a nightcap or a place to stop for a drink. Prices are in line with its busy location. A pint of Volcelest cost €8.10, which is probably not unusual for Versailles these days. We found the €4.50 price tag for a 33cl can of soft drink considerably less customer-friendly. Overall, it's a lively beer spot with a good selection and a local crowd. Not a place where we would spend an entire evening, but fine for a drink at dusk.

Friendly, warm welcome, but the glasses are emptied very, perhaps too quickly, they need to be removed...

Glad to have a pub open at 11:30 PM. Good atmosphere, friendly bartender and €7 for a pint.
