Delicious, homemade dishes, fast service, I recommend!

Well located near the lake, the setting is pleasant for sharing a meal. The dish is good nothing more, the dessert also for 23 euros it's correct. What's funny is that if you take the main course and the dessert separately you get 22 euros. I pointed this out to the cashier who told me that I was right but who still charged us a euros more/person.. we were treated to a parade of waiters, (5,) who take care of the tables indifferently.. Don't eat too late because otherwise you eat by candlelight, which can be nice and romantic but it's hard to see your plate in this intimacy. In short, to eat one evening without fuss, it's okay, it's a change, at a reasonable price.

Ate for 4 people today, nothing to complain about the menus, everything was good, t house, after information was taken from the brand, there was a change of owner, and the negative comments from before no longer correspond. Come and have dinner and enjoy the beach right opposite

Un p'tit week-end en Dordogne avec enfants et p'tits enfants, au bord du lac, et fin de soirée passée au bistrot de la jemaye, eh bien, nous avons tous étés satisfaits de notre repas, du service et de la qualité des produits ✌️👌même le menu enfant 👍franchement TOP... Motion particulière pour le FAIT MAISON ! Rare de nos jours... On recommande les yeux FERMÉS 👏

We were really delighted to discover how great this place has now become. As a family we have been visiting this area since the mid 1960s and have therefore tried and tested many restaurants across the region. On this visit, we had been to Riberac market and were all hungry and looking for lunch but also wanted a nostalgia trip to the beautiful La jamaye lake (grand etang) with its sandy beach, canoeing, walking paths, bird hide excellent free exercise machines and much more. It really is a great place to visit for a family or couples day out. Now it had got even better as it has a fantastic restaurant to make it worth going out of your way for, even if not going for a swim. We weren't sure but were lured in by the lovely outside seating area next to the lake in the warm spring sunshine and what looked to be a great and reasonably priced menu chalked up outside. We were in for such a treat, travelling with our son and his girlfriend we sat at a large comfortable table and were greeted by the owner who is friendly, helpful and clearly knows how to run a good business. Drinks were with us quickly while we choose from the 20 euro set menu (25 if you have dessert) with 3 choices for each course, there was something for everyone. One of had oysters, freshly shucked and tasty, one had warm goats cheese with peregordine honey with a delicious fresh salad that included great details such as red cabbage, sunflower seeds, several leaves and apple. The other choice was duck gesiers salad which my son raved about. In the sunshine with a cold carafe of rose to wash it all down we felt very lucky! The other tables outside had quickly filled with local French and French tourists- a great sign. There were more tables inside in a comfortable interior. For main course we all chose the same meal to my regret, as I would have liked to have tasted the lamb dish but we all fancied the confit duck served with delicious garlicky potatoes and freshly prepped vegetables. There were dishes for vegetarians and the service was at all times generous, efficient and helpful. The owner talked to us about her programme for entertainment over the summer and the head chef came out to say hello and discuss the food and we gave him our compliments. We none of us had room for the delicious sounding tarte tatin but this means we will be back very soon to try the other dishes. We finished a lovely afternoon with a walk around the lake in the sun looking at the amazing view. Of all the places we have eaten in the region this is the one I would recommend the most as the quality of the food, the beautiful setting, plus the very reasonable price makes it a total winner.
