Very good restaurant, but the service was too intrusive; if they could have served the entire meal at once, they would have. I think it's best to avoid it in the evening.

Arriving late for dinner, there were plenty of free tables both upstairs and downstairs, but the owner decided to squeeze us onto the banquettes between two other tables very close together. When we told them it wasn't the seat we'd hoped for, we were told it was the owner's order. It's a shame because the dining experience would have been much better if we hadn't been seated so close to the other tables.
The dishes (pan-seared foie gras/duo of scallops and prawns/flank steak) were good but not exceptional and not very refined.
The staff were pleasant.

We had dinner in this small restaurant in the old town of Nancy. The meal was excellent in a lovely little setting and the service was impeccable.

We came with four adults and four children. The staff were very welcoming, pleasant, and engaging. We quickly received coloring pages to keep the children occupied.
Fast service, plenty of choices à la carte or on the blackboard.
The dishes were well presented and delicious; we had a great time.

First meal at Gilles's bistro this afternoon, and it was perfect.
The €24 menu is excellent value for money, with original dishes like a gorgonzola mousse starter and swordfish tataki.
The service was impeccable and fast, despite the restaurant being full.
