Très bon accueil par Dame Grenadine puis dame Rachel. Menu Fête médiévale... 23 € la tourte aux champignons était excellente, filet de sandre miam miam 😋. Excellent rapport qualité prix. Je recommande.

Regulars of the Loches market... It's a shame that on Wednesday lunchtime we are asked to leave quickly when we only have a drink... to make way for people who are having lunch. On Saturday, no problem, you can stay for a drink and repeat x number of times since there is no lunchtime catering that day!

Très bien. Personnel très sympa. Carte simple mais tout est bon à un prix raisonnable. Frites maison délicieuses et nougat glacé tout autant.

A very very nice little bistro! The cuisine is simple and excellent. The welcome is just perfect! The waitresses are all very kind, smiling, considerate and pleasant. I highly recommend.

Positives first, our food was very good, the rest not so much. We sat for well over an hour waiting for our food. I noticed a group of 3 people served starters and then their main courses before we were asked if we wanted drinks. The plat du jour was finished and the waitress told us that she needed to serve the regulars with their plat du jours first, hence our wait...well that would have been handy to know while I sat waiting to get served and watch them eat!!!! I thought we were done after getting our desserts but my wife was question about her decision of coffee, if she wanted 2 shots of coffee or just one, milk or extra milk....it was on the menu, with no option of anything other than the drink itself... just serve her what she ordered!! 😠 Bottom line, the service was terrible and they know they were taking too long, thankfully our meals did make up for it but we won't be back...sorry 😐 As other people have commented on here, there are better establishments to eat in town with much better service and customer appreciation 🤷

It's been a long time since I've been to such a top brewery. I recommend 300%, welcome, very very good service. The home cooking, just impeccable, impeccable value for money too. So, if you go to Loches, you have to take a detour via the Balto.

28/08/2024: After going up and down the stairs and there, seeing the famous little girls, and the bottom of the lower pit of the tower of the castle of Loches, visiting the magnificent castle, we decided to stop at the café brasserie café des arts, where we were well received, The customer service is impeccable, the Périgord and Lochoise salad dishes are excellent! We noticed that the salads are loaded with meat, which is a good thing! Tiramisu desserts, and unfortunately crème brûlée (just kidding 🤣) Everything was perfect! Thank you to the managers, cooks, waitresses for their kindness.
27/08/2024: Après avoir monté et descendu les escaliers et il y en a, vu les fameuses fillettes,et la basse fosse de la tour du château de Loches, visité le magnifique château, nous avons décidé de nous poser au café brasserie café des arts, où nous fûmes bien accueilli, Le service client est impeccable, les plats de salades périgourdine,et lochoise, excellents ! Nous avons constaté que les salades sont bien garnies en viande, ce qui est une bonne chose ! Les desserts tiramisu,et une crème malheureusement brûlée ( je rigole 🤣) Tout était parfait ! Merci aux responsables, cuisiniers, serveuses pour leur gentillesse.

Hotel de France Restaurant

24/08/2024: I only know the restaurant and it is an exceptional experience that I highly recommend. The prices are more than reasonable and the refinement matches the originality.

Yet again we have returned to this superbly located, friendly hotel in Magical Loches, run by a delightful couple ,Sylvie et Stéphane Gage who continue to deliver exceptional service and wonderful traditional food to all their customers .This a one of a kind , family run , classic French Hotel , situated in the heart of the fantastic historic town of Loches , even boasting secure Hotel courtyard parking - esp. good for motorcycles!. Always a Friendly welcome, with comfortable , if somewhat dated rooms, some with A/C, but compensated by meals in the superb dining room or out in the balmy summer evening courtyard. Fabulous , value food, and superb local wine selection . We keep going back- Well worth a trip , or detour en route South, for a quiet relaxing overnight stay situated in the centre of the pedestrianised part of Loches.. You will return to this gem in the heart of France , over and over to epxerince the bustling markets on Wednesdays and Saturdays, great individual shopping , and magnificent historical sites , all within walking distance.
