A very good meal for 6 with very friendly service, a good pace, well-served wines and tasty dishes.

A nice little restaurant offering a diverse and good quality menu. Inside, it's warm but a bit cramped, though it's a great place to meet people. The staff is welcoming and professional.

After a long day of travelling — 1 bus and 3 trains — we arrived in La Rochelle hungry and ready for a good meal. We wandered up and down the waterfront before discovering Le Bistrot du Port, tucked away in a little side alley. We’re so glad we did! We started with the bone marrow and fresh bread, which was absolutely delicious and something we rarely, if ever, see on a menu back home in Australia. It was a real treat! Our main courses were equally delicious, but the sauce on the grilled pressed pork was simply amazing — rich, full of flavour and perfectly matched to the dish. We finished the evening with a lovely chocolate mousse, then made our way back to our accommodation completely satisfied, very happy, and already feeling like we’d found a little gem in La Rochelle. 😊 — highly recommended!

A very nice, cozy restaurant. The tables are very close together, so you quickly get to know your neighbors—very friendly! The food was excellent, except for the whipped cream which was canned and not homemade. The waitresses were very smiley and dressed like they were in the 1920s... Absolutely wonderful!!!

A lovely place that takes us back to our childhood. The food is good and the staff are kind and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. We'll definitely be back.

Typical French food in a very nice place, but the tables were too close together. We had snails and bone marrow as starters, and well, it wasn't bad. For our main courses, we had a ribeye steak, which was quite good, and a spectacular steak tartare. The waitresses couldn't have been better. They served us very well and were very helpful with our questions about what to visit, doing everything they could to get our attention. A place to return to for the tartare and the service.

During our visit to La Rochelle, we had dinner at this restaurant near the port. We were greeted with warm smiles as soon as we arrived. The €29 set menu is very varied and of high quality. The dishes are flavorful and expertly prepared. The service is very friendly; you feel like you're at home with friends. The waiters' retro attire and the decor transport you back to the 1960s. The atmosphere is relaxed with background music. A huge thank you to Maeva and the entire bistro team. We will return with immense pleasure. Patrick and Marie Hélène
