Highly recommended place, excellent service, and above all, delicious food.

Excellent restaurant. But wine A bit disappointing

The lady from Caffè Lumiere (Rue Maréchal Joffre X Rue du Pavillon) recommended the place as a keeper of local culinary tradition and as one where the locals go to eat like at their grandmother’s. There wasn’t a single French person when I arrived and for the entire time I spent there. Except for the staff and, especially, the magnificent lady who makes recommendations in French with the certainty of an expert who knows that what is good doesn’t get stuck in the barriers between languages. No problem. The American lady at the next table gave me essential clarifications based on a week in which she tested the entire menu and found nothing wanting. What am I talking about? She had found nothing short of divine! I linger a little bit longer just to finish my carafe of red wine. The Americans, not just the lady across the aisle, leave pondering the options they have for moving to Aix and living happily ever after within smelling distance of Le Bistrot.

The food was absolutely delicious—we ordered the beef tartare, the ribeye steak, and a hamburger, and each dish was full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The only downside was the fries. They were clearly frozen rather than fresh, and unfortunately very dry, almost like cardboard. Aside from that, the experience was great, and the quality of the main dishes really stood out. We had a very good time at the restaurant. The dishes were truly delicious—we ordered the beef tartare, the ribeye steak, and a hamburger, and everything was flavorful and very well prepared. The only negative point was the fries. They weren't fresh but frozen, and unfortunately very dry, almost like cardboard. Apart from that, the experience was excellent, and the quality of the main dishes deserves to be highlighted.

A small bistro located off the main streets. Delicious, carefully prepared dishes, including very good tartare and truly excellent veal liver. Beautiful atmosphere, very kind waiters!

What a wonderful find!! Despite having no reservation the waitress went out of her way to find us a table. The place has lots of character and the food is excellent.

Great restaurant in the center of Aix. We arrived late, were very warmly welcomed, the service was quick and friendly, the rabbit stew was delicious, good value for money, very welcoming atmosphere. Perfect!

Very good beef tartare, good value for money, I will gladly return when I am in Aix
